KPC - 3D Laser Scanning of Storage Tank

Optimum Geospatial's expertise was instrumental in a project involving the 3D laser scanning of a large petroleum vertical storage tank. Our Lead Geospatial Engineer employed the advanced Trimble X7 3D Laser Scanner to capture a highly precise and detailed point cloud of the tank's exterior.

The generated 3D model provided a comprehensive representation of the tank's geometry, facilitating thorough inspections for maintenance purposes. By analyzing the point cloud data, potential areas of corrosion, deformation, or other structural issues could be accurately identified and assessed. Additionally, the precise measurements derived from the 3D model were crucial for tank calibration, ensuring accurate volume calculations and inventory management.
